THE MID ESSEX GUILD OF WEAVERS, SPINNERS & DYERS
Dec 13th Christmas party, shared lunch, raffle, drop spindle competition, quiz and festive workshop.
Meetings are held at White Notley Village Hall unless otherwise stated. They are usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month (except December)and begin at 10.30 am and finish at 4pm. Visitors are welcome at all our meetings Please give yourself time to settle down before 11.00 am when the talk or workshop begins. Anyone wishing to spin should sit at the back to avoid distracting the speaker or other members.
Workshops need to be booked with the programme secretary and paid for in advance.
Jan. 17th AGM @ 11am, Show &Tell pm. Cakes from the committee.
Feb.21st Have a go at blending and carding, bring fleece & equipment if you have it. Workshop wet felted flowers.
Mar.21st Guild Equipment. What there is and how it works.
April 18th Members day, Enid Tivey Award, Shared Lunch and Raffle.
May 16th Have a go at weaving, bring yarn & equipment if you have it.
We will make some simple looms.
June 20th Tony White –A.M. Talk about his Sewing Bee journey
P.M. Workshop stash busting weaving on a natural
wreath base.
July 18th All about spinning wheels, differences and their maintenance. Spindle spinning corner.
Aug.15th Members Day, Barbara Rumsey weaving award,shared lunch
& raffle.
Sept. 19th A.M. Fruity’s Fleeces Talk – My Sheep & their fleeces.
P.M. Workshop Eco bundle dyeing with leaves & flowers.
Oct. 17th 2 x Spinning Awards - a skein from fleece & a skein from commercial tops. Workshop wet felted Mittens
Nov. 21st Social get together come and chat & do your craft.
